only open on Friday 17th April 2020.

2. The Annual General Meeting normally held in April will be postponed and the new date will be

communicated to you in due course. We will ensure that 14 days’ notice will be given as per the

constitution, however, due to the extraordinary situation, we find ourselves in respect to the lockdown,

we may need to set the new date after the end of April.

3. The Men’s Club Championships will be postponed and new dates for all divisions will be
communicated to you in due course.

4. All bookings made for games during the lockdown will automatically be cancelled, but all

Please all stay safe over this difficult time and let's hope we all come out of this stronger than before.

As legislation changes on a daily basis, George Golf Club will implement the following changes from tomorrow.

·        Players are requiring to always leave the flagstick in the hole.

·        We will be positioning the cup so that a part of it is above the surface. This would

result in a ball rebounding off the liner/cup rather than falling into the hole.

In this situation a ball would be considered “holed” if it hits the cup. It is expected

those players take due care when “holing out” under this interim rule i.e. not

    “bashing” a ball at a hole liner/cup.

·        Hole-in-one While this COVID-19 Rule, regarding the Hole, is in effect a “hole-in-

one” will not be official (prize cannot be won) but it will count for scoring

·        The rakes have been removed from the course. Players are requested to smooth

bunkers using their feet or a club.

·        The following Local Rule will be acceptable for handicap purposes.

·        When a player’s ball lies in a bunker which has had the rakes removed, the player

may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball and playing

         from the relief area.

·        Reference Point: Spot of the original ball.

·        Size of the Relief Area: One club-length but must not be closer to the hole and

         must remain in the bunker.

·        All cups will be removed from the putting and chipping greens and will be replaced with

·        All portable ball washers will be removed and signs on the permanent ball washers will

have signs advising people to NOT USE THE BALL WASHERS.
