I haven’t felt this helpless and lost since 2020 when we were forced to close the course due to Covid. This time, it’s due to the relentless rain which is where George probably got its reputation of being Cold & Wet. It certainly isn’t the Cosy & Warm city I have got to love over the years.

The next Rands-in-Raffle and Members Attendance Club Draw will be on Friday, 30 June 2023. Club Pool A is standing at R5000.00 with Club Pool B at R5000.00 AND Club Pool C R4200.00.

And then it rained and rained, and rained. If we continue with this pattern for the next week or so, we will surpass the amount of rain we’ve had for the whole of 2022!

The past few days have been a busy time for our league teams who were in action on various courses. On Saturday at home, two of our teams battled it out, with George 3 triumphing over George 2.

We have certainly had our fair share of rain these past few weeks. As a result, the Course has been very wet, with a few fairways and green surrounds especially hard hit. Last week the Club requested that all carts remain on the paths as far as possible, and that the fairways be avoided at all times. I want to thank all the players who make an effort to lessen any impact they may have on the Course by going around wet patches instead of ploughing through thoughtlessly.

The winter has really set in with extremely cold and wet conditions experienced over the last few weeks.
