Another PGA year has come and gone, and as the saying goes, "third times the charm", Scottie Scheffler for the 3rd year in a row entered the last week of the playoffs as the number 1 ranked player.

The next Rands-in-Raffle and Members Attendance Club Draw will be on Friday, 13 September 2024. Club Pool A is standing at R5000.00 with Club Pool B at R5000.00 and Club Pool C at R3400.00.

I overheard our Captain saying on Friday night that the Chairman's Chat will be full of lots of important information, which has put me under a little pressure, but here goes.

When this newsletter goes out hollow-tining will be done, and I am sure that we are all hoping for a speedy recovery of the greens.

Winter is usually a quieter time at the club, but this year has been a little different, especially for management and Council, as the upgrade has been in full swing. Work on the course has been intensive and just to add to it all, staff changes both on and off the course have required our full commitment.

It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of a long-standing member of the George Golf, Michael Hargreaves. Mike will be missed by many. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.
