This is my last ‘Chairman’s Chat’ piece for the year, so will keep it short.

The next Rands-in-Raffle and Members Attendance Club Draw will be on Friday, 1 December 2023. Club Pool A is standing at R5000.00 with Club Pool B at R4200.00.

For those who did not compete, I can report that the 2023 Hollard Insurance Outeniqua Risk Solutions Club Champs was a huge success. Thank you to everybody who contributed to the weekend, and a special word of thank you to our two main sponsors, Hollard Insurance, and Outeniqua Risk Solutions, without their support the event would not have been the same.

I spent last week in Cape Town, and I can report that summer has indeed arrived there. It’s just us Georgians who are still gripped in oki-weather (Afrikaans = oki warm, oki koud – meaning neither here nor there). But at least we are playing golf.

I cannot believe that you will be reading this Captain’s Comment in November of 2023. And we haven’t had two consecutive days of summer yet! We already lost one Friday afternoon sundowner, and most players will be undercooked for the upcoming Club Championships.
